Russian Standard Vodka
In 1894, the founder of the famed periodic table, Dimitri Mendeleev created the official standard for vodka in St. Petersburg. Mendeleev determined that the best vodka should be: distilled only
from wheat; rectified multiple times for purity; blended only with the softest natural glacial water; 40% ABV for perfect Equilibrium; filtered through charcoal to remove impurities.
Today, Russian Standard, owned by Russian entrepreneur Roustam Tariko, have revived the Mendeleev standard and brought it into the 21st century with exacting quality control and advanced distilling technology.
Russian Standard Original was first introduced in 1998. Two years after launch, sales of Russian Standard Original surpassed all imported premium vodkas on the Russian market, leading to rapid international expansion and the launch of Russian Standard Platinum in 2001 and Imperia Vodka, the company's luxury brand, in 2004. It is distilled and bottled in St. Petersburg at a new state-of-the-art distillery and is made from only the finest Russian ingredients. In order to achieve optimal clarity, Russian Standard Original is distilled four times and filtered twice through charcoal to achieve absolute transparency and purity.
